Metallofullerene derivatives offer the opportunity to produce novel and advanced materials. In this work, we presented the synthesis of metallofullerene piperazine derivatives under different conditions by changing the temperature, light and ration of the reactants. Three metallofullerene piperazine derivatives [La@C-82-C4N2H8, La@C-82-C4N2H8-H-8, and La@C-82-(C4N2H8)(2)-H-6] were separated and confirmed by MALDI-TOF-MS, UV-Vis-NIR and FTIR. Compared with the hollow fullerene C-60, we found that metallofullerene showed higher reactivity than C-60 and produced different derivatives. The mechanism of the reaction was discussed.
