英文摘要The most important characteristics of the limited streamer mode are the discontinuous transition from the proportional to the streamer mode and a coexistence of both modes for a certain range of voltages. A recent paper [F.E. Taylor, Nucl. Instr. and Meth. A289 (1990) 283] reviews many features of the streamer mechanism but it is incomplete since that model cannot account for the experimental facts.
