The nucleon structure functions F-2 and g(1) in the resonance region are estimated by employing a simple constituent quark model. The scaling behaviors of the nucleon structure functions in the deep inelastic scattering region are used to compare with our calculated results generated by the low-lying nucleon resonances in the resonance region. Quark-hadron duality in the nucleon-electron scattering process is discussed. (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
